ID Thieves Use Caller ID for Phishing

 

 

You can no longer trust the caller ID as an assurance of who is on the other end of the telephone calling you. Crooks are now Phishing for information doing caller spoofs.

Identity thieves have tapped into technology that allows them to look like your bank, the government, and whomever else they want to be to dupe you into providing confidential information about yourself.

They are even using devices to alter their voices.
