Jerry Ponsky

 

 

He is a loan officer, a business owner, and home repair businessman. And those are just a few of the hats Jerry Ponsky of Cleveland, Ohio wears. His focus has typically been lower-income neighborhoods in that city.

He owned Brays Enterprises, a home remodeling and home repair company. This is just one of the many operations he started and closed.

Many people in Cleveland, Ohio claim they are victims of Jerry Ponsky and his many companies operating as a home improvement, and a foreclosure bailout lender, and a home lender.

Some 22 known lawsuits have been filed against Ponsky, who in turn either filed bankruptcy, or, closed the business and then opened a new one under a different name. Ponsky says its all a misunderstanding.

The question people and their attorneys keep asking is, why prosecutors refuse to charge Ponsky when they have been repeatedly handed the preverbal smoking gun to indict Ponsky.

By 2005, Ohio topped the nation for the most foreclosures, and according to numerous news articles, most the foreclosures involved fraud.

Prosecutors File Charges Against Ponsky

 

 

Federal and state prosectors filed criminal charges against Jerry Ponsky and others alleging they orchestrated schemes to fraud homeowners.

The Better Business Bureau reported that they had been aware of the numerous lawsuits and complaints against Ponsky's many companies.

20 Years of Ponsky's Broken Promises

 

Even when they win lawsuits, or settle, the guilty person seldom pays, according to court documents. Critics say the problem is the gray area in Ohio law that allows scam artists to remain off the radar of those who could bring serious criminal charges.

 

Jerry-rigged

Edelmiro Medina said Jerry Ponsky helped him secure a loan for $10,500 worth of home repairs, but then took all the money and never even started the work.

 

Cleveland's Foreclosure Crisis

 

Sections of Cleveland are blighted with empty homes from the rampant foreclosures. City officials are outraged saying Ohio Legislature is bought and paid for by giant lenders, such as Ameriquest and its subsidiary Argent.
